The three Ladies Betarrini have made it back to the present. This time they are on a mission. They must save Mr. Betarrini.  Their father was killed years earlier in a car wreck and now the sisters and their mother are headed back to save him and then make their journey back to 14th Century Siena.
When the girls, mother and now their father are back with Marcello they are again thrown into lies and battles!
There is never a dull moment in this book and it was so exciting to read! Lord Betarrini is realizing, through this new life they are living, that the women in his life are strong. Soon he is picking up a sword as well and fighting with them.
Gabi and Lia are falling in love with their men as well as their new home. They will do whatever they must to protect all they love. When Gabi is again captured, she must figure out a way to escape or she will be married to Lord Rodolpho. Their attraction for each other is obvious. Does she love Marcello enough to die trying to escape her captors or does she just accept defeat and marry a man who isn't her true love?

Ms. Bergren did not disappoint me with this book! I love the Betarrini family! Gabriella and Avangelia get better and better with every book! This is definitely a series that I could read over and over. I can't wait to read the novella's and the 4th book in this series! GO TEAM BETARRINI!

Marcello, Luca and Rodolpho are awesome heroes but I love how Ms. Bergren makes Gabriella and Avangelia the ones that save them all. The men are in the background when it comes to these women and I love it! They are heroic and they can fight their own battles! They are strong female characters and that is just what I love!

The Winter Sea

This book is about a well established author who is working on her next big hit. While on a visit to Cruden Bay , Scotland to see her godson get baptized, she is pulled towards Slains Castle. She feels that being around Slains Castle is giving her more ideas and her characters are coming more alive and speaking to her. Little does she know, that these characters were once real.

I started reading this book under the assumption that the character author, Carrie, would be going back in time herself. I was disappointed when I realized that she herself does not go back in time, but her memories do. In the book it describes it as Genealogical Memory. She believes that being in Cruden Bay, Scotland and so close to Slains Castle has some how woken up her ancestors memories in her mind. I find that Carrie falling for the cute Graham Keith and her ancestor, Sophia Paterson falling for the gorgeous John Morley is sweet. Carrie gets memories from her great grandmother, Sophia Paterson and she is able to write them down. Sophia is telling her a story that no one knows, and she has kept it secret for hundreds of years and now she is letting the secret out. Carrie is intrigued and is writing Sophia and John's story and will soon be told of betrayal. I however, love the story of Sophia and John. How beautiful they are together makes me happy and I get that tightness in my chest when the story is brought back to the past.  I could do without all of the history lessons. I find myself skipping over a lot of it. What I really want is to be able to read about Sophia Paterson and John Morley without the other stuff. I don't care about Carrie and her story while she is writing about Sophia and John. When I get to those parts of the book where it is back to Carrie I feel sad, sometimes mad.

Gabi and Lia have made it back to the present, but they aren't there to stay. They grab their mother and talk her into diving back to the 14th century.
Gabi has so much to lose leaving 14th century Tuscany. She is in love with Marcello and he is in love with her. She will do whatever she has to do to stay with him.
The sisters believe the worst is over and the three of them can make a happy trip back to Marcello and his time to prove to their mother what happened. When they return, however, they are seen as heroes and are famous for their fighting skills as well as their stand against the enemies of Siena.
With Siena's enemies being Florence, the Florentines will do anything in their power to get rid of and kill the Sister Beterrinis.  They have become the heart and hope of Siena.
Not only is Gabi having to help fight Florence and evade her own capture, she is also having to prove that Lady Romana Rossi and her family are traitors to Siena.
The excitement did not stop at Waterfall. Cascade is full of fighting, romance and adventure. The best combination.  I am so excited about this series I can't stop telling people about it! I can't stop thinking about it! Every time I am done reading one of these books, I just sit there holding it to my chest thinking about how wonderful Marcello is, how handsome Luca is and how I want to eat up Rodolpho. The author gives you great Heroines to fall in love with! Gabriella and Avangelia are some of the strongest women I have read about! I love them! They become heroes in this world of time travel, love and adventure! I LOVE THESE BOOKS! Ms. Bergren definitely knew what she was doing when she was writing these books!

Gabriella and Avangelia Betarrini are working with their mother in Tuscany during their summer vacation. Their mother, an archaeologist has just discovered some ancient tombs. While her mother is busy arguing with an Italian archaeologist over some paper work that she did not turn in, Gabi and her sister Lia start exploring a tomb that has caught their attention. While exploring some ancient paintings on the walls of the tomb, they notice a pair of drawn hand prints that match their own in size. Gabi is intrigued and must investigate further. Both sisters put their hands on the prints and then their world changes! Literally!
Gabi finds herself in 14th century Italy, without her sister, and in the sights of  Lord Marcello.
Gabi has a hard time coping with her new surroundings, and on top of that she is in search of her sister who is now lost. Gabi can only assume that she has been taken captive by Lord Marcello's enemy.
Marcello and Gabi go on an adventure of battle, dancing and romance while trying to locate and rescue Lia.
Gabi is not like any woman Marcello has met before. With her independent ideas, her using a sword and riding a horse like a man, he seems to fall more in love with her every day. His betrothed, Ramana is not happy with his new distraction and is soon doing her best to get rid of this new Lady Betarrini.

I loved every minute of this book.
Never a dull moment! So much fun and action and a little romance. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG! I mean I literally sat there after reading it, holding it to my chest and thinking about how wonderful it was.
